We’re delighted to announce that we have been chosen as York’s Little Festival of Live Music’s charity for their upcoming Acoustic and Folk Mini-Fest which will take place at The Black Swan Inn on Saturday 31 March.
We are thrilled to be part of this great event which showcases the work of musicians and bands from across the country as well as raise funds for a local cause.
The festival will be hosting a six and a half hour event in aid of our worthy cause and will feature a wide range of folk and acoustic musicians and bands from across Yorkshire. Acts who will be performing at the Mini-Fest includes rising young performer Scarlett Gordon , who performs covers and her own tunes; popular gypsy-celtic group Leather’o ;one of the UK’s finest folk and multi-instrumentalists Toni Bunnell who will be launching her highly anticipated seventh album at the event; newly formed norse folk group Bruni ;who perform music inspired by the Viking era; local acoustic legend David Ward Maclean ; Plumhall’s Nick Hall who will be performing a rare solo set at the festival and voice of an angel Edwina Hayes , who has won her reputation as a true natural talent of gentle folk-Americana and will be headlining the Mini-Fest.
The team who run the festival says “We love hosting our mini-fest which gives us the opportunity to fundraise for a local cause. We are also passionate about collaborating with Grassroots and Independent Talent across the UK and enjoy helping them showcase their work to established and new music lovers. The beauty of our events is that they are family-friendly, it’s great to see a wide range of audiences brought together to celebrate and support great live music. This year we have a wealth of incredible Yorkshire talent taking to the stage at The Black Swan Inn. Every act is completely different from one another and our audiences are guaranteed to discover an eclectic range of music – it’s truly going to be an afternoon and evening of musical delights.”
Entry into the festival is free of charge, however, a suggested donation of £5 will be welcomed. These donations will be given to us at The Island Mentoring Scheme– a local children’s charity which supports vulnerable children from York.
York’s Little Festival of Live Music’s Mini-Fest will take place on Saturday 31 March from 2.30pm-9pm (doors open at 2.15pm).
The event is family-friendly and everyone is welcome to join us for a great day of live music in aid of charity.
