It is with great pleasure we can announce that The Island is embarking on an exciting future, bringing essential early help and support for young people in York through our bespoke Young Peoples Hub. With planning now approved, we are having lots of exciting meetings and consultations behind the scenes as we look forward to a future filled with hope, enthusiasm and, most importantly, collaboration with many amazing services across the city.

Our aim is to offer effective, high-quality services and resources, using multiple service delivery methods from multi-skilled, trained and passionate staff teams to young people across York and at our very own Young Peoples Hub based in Huntington, York.

During this time, we will be doing a full evaluation and review of our services, asking:

What is quality support?

How can we improve to meet the needs of young people across the city?

What can we learn from our past and present service delivery models?

This will allow us to further strengthen our core principles, philosophies and processes and, most importantly, allow us to make our service even more open and accessible to all.

Please be patient with us during this time – our focus is still to meet the demand for our services and offer 'islands of time and space' where needed; but we wish to ensure we can do this in a quality assured way. We will still be running our core mentoring services.
