Taking
place during one of the busiest Christmas shopping weekends, hundreds of people
came and watched this year’s ChoirFest which took place outside the York
Mansion House on Saturday 7 December.
The event, which was created in 2018 to raise funds for our local children’s charity, raised an incredible £447.82 which will enable us to guarantee nearly 50 mentoring services for children experiencing difficulties with their mental, emotional and social wellbeing.
There were performances from Acomb Community Choir – one of the cities well-respected choirs; SuperSing – a lively and friendly choir led by Jules Mock; Lucy’s Pop Choir -a fun singing group who loves to sing pop and chart songs, both new and old; and newly formed choir Magic Voices headed up by Lucy Huelin.
Ellen Cole who oversaw the event said: “It was so lovely to see people having a great time and enjoying the wide range of songs that the fantastic choirs performed for them. I would like to thank the public for their generous donations which are going to go toward enhancing the confidence, self-esteem and resilience levels of local children. I would also like to thank York Mansion House for being kind to us, their team is always so good to us each year.”
Based on Priory Street, we have been providing early intervention services for local children and young people since 2008. We have high success rates for transforming children’s quality of lives through bespoke mentoring programmes.
